Hello,
I´m just back from short nice holidays in Croatia. A lot of interesting animals there, among them Vipera ammodytes
Here are some pictures of the gulls:

Hi Wolfgang,
Excellent images. I'm working (finally!) again on the section michahellis, is it okay to put these ringed birds there as well? So far, much of the content is about western Med birds, and it is good to have a bit on eastern micha as well.
Also, if you have life histories of these birds, that would be great to add.

Hi Mars,
excuse my late answer
After loosing my premium gull site at Wörth my motivation went down and for long time i didn´t visit GRO-forum....
Of course feel free to take all these pictures, they are already public
I would see it as a honour to have pictures at this great high quality website
BTW - I believe that there are more pictures of this birds and others in my PC. I´ve got only ringing data from Zagreb RC, only from birds seen in Austria I have full life lists.

Re: Baṧka/Krk/Croatia
Last week I´d been in Baska again. Much more people there now, so it´s not easy to observe gulls at the beach or even to read rings. Only few ringed birds remained due to the decrease of ringing activity. Four different ringed birds were seen, only 2 of them finally read.
Some pics:
juvenile
2cy
adult
S1XU - I guess about 10 years old
S92R - presumably 6 years old
Finally a view from the highlands of Krk (home of Griffon Vulture) over northern Adriatic Sea with the small island Zecevo where thousands of YLG were ringed as pulli. In the background the village Senj at the Dalmatian coast.

Surprising details of mentioned S92R shown above, received from Zagreb RC: "S92R has an interesting life-history, and also - it was observed in Hungary on 22.8.2016 and next day in Baška."
Complete life list:
Ringed on 30.5.2011 at Zecevo.
Previous observations:
15.10.2012 smetlište Arad, ROMANIA, (RO50) 46.14 N 21.20 E
22.10.2012 smetlište Arad, ROMANIA, (RO50) 46.14 N 21.20 E
26.10.2012 smetlište Arad, ROMANIA, (RO50) 46.14 N 21.20 E
22.11.2015 Jakuševec, Zagreb, (HR01) 45.45 N 16.01 E

Re: Baṧka/Krk/Croatia
Yes we did. Since it had become very very cold, a lot of large gulls from northern directions arrived and they brought a lot of rings to Austria.
Only today Lukas Strobl and I managed it to read 11 rings on cachinnans at the banks of river Donau near Krems: green XHEE, yellow HC567, white 197:S, white 352:S, red 17P4, red 60P0, yellow PALC, yellow PATU, Yellow PEKP, yellow PDBV, yellow PLHX
Poor numbers of Herring Gulls this year, no rings so far. On the other hand several ringed Common Gulls, among them Frank Majoors white EW16!
