Re: Het H word - hybrids from Poland
I'm not sure (of course) if this individual might be from Poland, in fact I'm most interested where these buggers come from. Anyway, an impressive male that I categorised 'argentatus' until proven otherwise...

Another suspicious bird, probably Herring x Caspian. Inner primaries showed typical Caspian pattern. Heemskerk 06-10-09.

Just in case there's anyone out there who thinks '... but it can't all be that complicated, can it?'
Yes we can!
loads of green rings, cach x tatus, tatus x fuscus, tatus mimicing perfect micha... all in one single colony: http://gneubauer.republika.pl/mix_colonies.html
And if you understand those birds, have a look into the Ivanovo oblast, Russia. Pictures from June 2008 at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/neubauerg/ ... 508214870/:

Hi Wolfgang.
Interesting to see 4P60 again. Would be nice to see an open wing shot.

Unfortunately I have none...JanJ wrote: Would be nice to see an open wing shot.
The bird was visible only for a short time and only on 1 day.

Re: Het H word - hybrids from Poland
Yesterday at Lubna dump i saw these mysterious bird.
Jizz is completely odd - small head, bulky and elongated body - points for some mixed genes.
On wing pattern wisible broken subterminal band on P10, large mirror on P9 and trace of black on P5.
Hybrid or odd Capsian judging wing pattern
