what a contrasting fresh juvenile.
those are pretty broad white fringes, i'm used to see much less obvious ones in cachi.
GC pattern is also astonishing clearcut. but my experience is limited concerning fresh juvs.

"The not so white-headed" PUHP was sighted from distance at Simrishamn, Sweden today. The poor record shot shows however a much "whiter" gull today!

Another PU series to my collection :P
PUDB resting in sandy island at Wisla river near Lubna dump.
Not so good quality as previous rings but the distance from me was about 300 meters.

Cheers

lou i was also suprised by that fact! comparing to some Caspians from 14 Oct from Łubna most of them didn't have yet any coverts replaced.
look also on very pinkish bill at basal.

Hi Ies!
Ithink you are right :) All chicks c-ringed this year in S Poland (PDxx series) are from colony in SW, which is located at Kozielno reservoir.

Cheers,
Michal

In a contrast to Michal Rycak´s bird I have this one in my area in the moment. Has still a lot of juvenile plumage.

And another one at Lubna today, and later present near dump on Wisla river.
PUTA not so advanced in moult - rather typical one.
At Lubna also present Lithuanian and Croatian rings.

This is what I suspect to see when looking for cachinnans!
A beauty.
