Hi,
anyone want to guess the sex of the bird in the photo?
to me it looks girlish..slender and smallish with notthatstrong bill..
It is 9cy bird.

looks like a male to me, luka. but size comparison with other fellows would be good. bill looks substantial.

This is all we got. The thing is that this is one of the first birds we got recovery fledged on one colony and found breeding on another.. Untill now we had only recoveries on same colony...

I have another question..why the gull doesn't have metal ring? She/he might lost it or you don't put?

p.s. btw we put 400 darvics this year in Bulgaria on nests, unfortunately less than last year even we manege to cover two different places. Soon I will post pictures.

Hi Strahil,
it had metal ring , but it was lousy aluminium ring and most YLGs loose them in first two years... That's why we use steel last few years or put above the "knee"..
