Hello guys,
Had this very fresh presumed LBBG in Feurteventura, Canary Islands last week. Maybe a high northern breeder? Any way to tell if it is an intermedius? I had small numbers of both adult graellsi and intermedius and one possible adult Fuscus (beautiful, small, long winged bird) no ring however.
YLG photos next week.
Thanks
derek

Re: Lesser Black Backed Ferteventura
Hi derek,
It indeed is very fresh, and probably a bird from more northern latitudes. However, juveniles can not safely assigned to any of the LBBG subspecies, unfortunately...
Nice images anyway, looking foreward to those ylg!
Cheers, Mars
