dark 2cy on svala by hans

especially those very dark GC are really unusual and show the possible variation!

Just received this image from Willem Pompert, photographed 28-11-2011. Extensively 'hooded' Common Gull at IJmuiden beach, the Netherlands. Should this be the darker end of the hood in winter adults of canus canus? Or still well within the limits?
