Re: what is this???
Hi all! Yes, this gull was quite puzzling! I´m afraid these are the best photos I got before it took off. From distance it was identified as a cachinnans in a line with argentatus based on jizz and overall white appearance. In the field the mantle colour felt a shade darker than the argentatus, lack...

Re: YLG/HG?
Qiute good numbers of HG:s last few days at Simrishamn, Sweden - on their way northeast to the breeding grounds. Among "regular" HG:s quite good numbers of yellow-legged HG:s. Normally quite safe to ID by primary pattern, structure etc. Although not extremely rare with birds showing complete black b...

Re: 2nd cy gull
I think argentatus is involved and my guess would be tatus x cach. Albeit not as cach-like as most presumed hybrids of this combination that I´ve seen. The pattern of the underwing and tail in favour for tatus being involved-in my opinion. The inner hand did seem to fit michahellis well with only a ...

Re: Swedish 1cy Caspian in Amsterdam
I received this two photos from Kenneth Bengtsson (taken by Anders Åkesson). The bird was ringed already on the 7th of August at Spillepeng, Malmö.

Re: Swedish 1cy Caspian in Amsterdam
I talked to Kenneth Bengtsson and he and Lennart Blomquist ringed a Caspian (left leg) at Spillepeng, Malmö, Sweden in September this year. Except for the birds from Ottenby, (listed by Jan J) I don´t know of any other Caspian Gull ringed in Sweden. It´s most likely this bird and they hope the full ...

Re: Juvenile ringed Caspian from east
"The not so white-headed" PUHP was sighted from distance at Simrishamn, Sweden today. The poor record shot shows however a much "whiter" gull today!
