Re: Baṧka/Krk/Croatia
Keep up the work in Austria too! Yes we did. Since it had become very very cold, a lot of large gulls from northern directions arrived and they brought a lot of rings to Austria. Only today Lukas Strobl and I managed it to read 11 rings on cachinnans at the banks of river Donau near Krems: green XH...

Re: Baṧka/Krk/Croatia
Last week I´d been in Baska again. Much more people there now, so it´s not easy to observe gulls at the beach or even to read rings. Only few ringed birds remained due to the decrease of ringing activity. Four different ringed birds were seen, only 2 of them finally read. Some pics: juvenile k1b.jpg...

Re: Russian gull ringread in Austria
Just seen: I´ve written 3rd winter - nonsense of course. It is definitely 2nd winter. It is a bird from Ivanovo oblast, while the birds going to Israel are born at Selitba Lake, this population includes barabensis type. PVUN is a bird from a mixed colony Herring X Caspian and I still think it can be...

Re: Russian gull ringread in Austria
Hi, nothing to help in the last 2 years :( . There was no winter in the last year and therefore no large gulls at Krems and Gneixendorf. And my local spot at Wörth has gone... But today it was cold and I was in Krems and looked for gulls. Really, the first large ones had arrived. The first 2 Caspian...

Possible hybrid CG x YLG from Poland
Hi, some years ago, in 2007, I had observed a large gull with green Polish ring 063P. This small bird (female) appeared first time on 24-2-2007 as a first winter bird at Wörth. It was a bird from Jankowice colony in southern Poland and so I was sure that it had to be a Caspian Gull, although I knew ...

Re: Larus cachinnans on ORG
Fine thing - Caspian Gull on GRO! Stayed undiscovered by me for several month.... I did not expect to find my pictures of ringed CG from Ukraine and Poland here; please excuse the very bad quality! Nowadays I have updated my equipment. Maybe this winter will bring again a lot of ringed eastern CG to...

Re: distribution of cachinnans in (NW) Europe
But I have the idea that in his eyes I said something wrong. About a ring in Austria that looked different to me but I did explain that I was not conspicuous but purely interested... Don´t worry about that .... ;) 2 things: I have a lot of stress now. And I have lost my local patch for large gulls,...
