Yes, I am totally agree. But the observers was sure they had read the code correctly, and the bird are observed again as HG, so then we think this is correct.

Well, we can beat that Smith there :) . I ringed a herring gull chick in Troms in 1999 that was observed in Qued Massa, Morocco in january 2000 by Mike Marsh and Steve Piotrowski, and this birds was again reported (as Herring Gull) in Norfolk, UK in january 2002. Now this if fixed. Hm, seen in IJmondhaven, IJmuiden, Noord-Holland, the same day, over 100 km away. Is 51°31'00"N 003°26'00"E correct for "your" Ijmuiden and 52°27'38"N 004°34'11"E good for IJmondhaven???
