Re: caspian? what do you guys think.
Hi Mars, thanks. Photos are crappy and scap pattern really looks to blotched in them, but this gull (1st one) gave in the field another impression and searching again in my photo arkive I managed to find another one where a few plain grey feathers are visible along with some anchor shaped with grey ...

caspian? what do you guys think.
Hello everyone, Yesterday at Peniche harbour, this gull was roosting at the peer. Underwing much like caspian, but not on the pale end, with axillaries milk/chocolate tone, ex: http://gull-research.org/cachinnans/2cy/2cyfebr36.html . Coverts pattern, tertials and overhall structure much like what I ...

Re: Cape gull ???
The record from the North of Portugal its amazing!!! And since that record came out another observer shared a few photos of another bird seen at Peniche 2 weeks ago, resembling at least the odd big gulls from Khenifiss. The wide trailing edge on secondaries is massive, legs seem to have the green ti...

Re: Could this be an atlantis?
Thank you both! I agree that such a strong and restricted head streaking is not to be expected in graellsii , mainly in the malar and from the lores to the upper mandibule area, but see this ind. from january in Portugal

Re: Could this be an atlantis?
Thanks, Peter... I will read your article on BB as soon as I could get it, still the recent colonization event of graellsii in Iberia plus hybridization with "lusitanius" type YLG, could probable be a pitfall on "atlantis" identification. I have no more data than the last YLG survey at Berlengas Isl...

Re: unringed fuscus
Another unringed bird, this time from 14 November, Espinho - Portugal.
P5 new, P6 on the way, dropped P7 and P8 to P10 old, moulted outermost secondaries??? and growing outermost GC....I would say primary moult was suspended on P4.
Could intermedius show this kind of moult score?
regards,
Rui
