On 6 April 2013 in my hometown Zaandam, the Netherlands, I also observed a leucistic BHG. The bird was very confiding and was easily attracted by bread. Some pictures added. The second one I observed in three years of intensive gull-watching.

The story continues; a fresh juvenile from Russia coded Y[KW25] was present today (14DEC12) on the roof of the waste treatment plant in Amsterdam. Today, 16 November 2010, the same bird was present again at IJburg Amsterdam. I could not fully read the ring, but the deviating bill was obvious.

Today, 09-May-2010, I visited the IJmuiden area in search of ringed gulls. Hopes were low as most of the gulls are present in the breeding colonies.
