My thoughts on this bird (based on the photos on Antonio's blog): 1) The bird is bulky with a "Herring Gull-like" head shape and a long dark bill. 2) It's got quite plain tertials as well as a semi-plain tailband. 3) at least p7-p9 show the darker outer webs with a J-shape at the tip. Hallo, Last spring I photographed some Armenian Gulls in early April at Magan Michael in Israel, whose moult confused me a lot. For me, this bird is a Herring Gull. A species in which all the shown features fits.
